Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our Accounts Payable operations and support general accounting functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Experience in the insurance industry is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Assist with audits, both internal and external, by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and general accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Insurance industry experience is highly desirable.
